Terry King Shawe Girls Basketball Head Coach Resigns

The search for a new Head Coach will begin immediately.

                                         TERRY KING

Coach Terry King, head varsity girls basketball coach at Shawe Memorial, announced his resignation from the school's basketball program on Thursday last week. King, who has been Shawe's girls head coach since the 2018-2019 season, is resigning in order to spend more time with family and travel during his retirement. "Stepping down from coaching the game I love and invested a majority of my life in, and leaving this group of girls who have all the potential needed to become a very successful team in the coming years, has been a very difficult decision for me. But after many conversations with family and close friends I felt like now was the time to step away and allow someone else who can commit their full attention and efforts into the continued growth of the program to take over," said coach King. "We appreciate the 4 years coach King has spent leading our girls’ basketball program and his dedication to the school. He will forever be a member of our Hilltopper family," said Jamison Bower, athletic director of Shawe Memorial. "He has worked hard to share his passion, vision, and knowledge of the game with our student athletes and has played an integral part in re-building our girls basketball program. We wish him the very best in all his future endeavors." Shawe will begin the search for a new varsity girls’ basketball head coach immediately. All candidates interested in applying should submit their resume/cover letter to Shawe's athletic office via email, shaweathletics@popeace.org.
