MLB discussing ideas for baseball in 2020. XFL announces all operations suspended indefinitely.

In National Sports News:

The XFL has now announced that they are suspending all operations indefinitely. On a call with COO Jeffery Pollock, nearly all XFL employees have officially been laid off, and currently there are no plans in place for a return in 2021.

In Major League Baseball:

New realignment ideas are being discussed for a possible return to baseball in 2020. What has been discussed recently, is a complete realignment of the National and American Leagues for this season. With an abbreviated season in the works, the plan is for teams to get three weeks of training at their normal spring training facilities in Arizona or Florida. Teams would be divided into two leagues, Cactus and Grapefruit, and would play all of their regular season games in Florida and Arizona without fans present. Divisions would be made based on the geography of where their spring training facilities are, so normal divisional rivals would not be the same. This plan has not been implemented yet, but The MLB says they will: “Continue to explore all options, knowing anything and everything is possible for a season like no other.”
