Madison Cubs Football Honors The Armed Forces Friday Night

Battle of the Railroad Rivalry Game

This Friday the Madison Football Cubs will be will be honoring The Armed Forces. The Football Cubs will be wearing the Indiana National Guard sponsored uniforms. Thank you to the National Guard for selecting Madison. The National Guard will also have a Tailgate Area set-up before the game. Come out and Support the Armed Forces and the Madison Cubs this Friday!

Also, this Friday will be the Battle of the Railroad Rivalry Game between the Madison Cubs and the Jennings County Panthers. The two schools, separated by just 22 miles, have been playing football annually since 1968, but this year marks the 5th time that a traveling trophy will be presented to the winner of the game. With railroads connecting the two counties, both programs found it fit to call the rivalry the "Battle of the Railroad." The trophy is a piece of iron railroad track with two train engines pulling against each other. Once engine representing Madison and one engine representing Jennings County.

Jennings County leads the series 26-24 in regular-season match-ups.
