Varsity Girls Volleyball
Even with a few unforced errors in the third set, the Shawe Hilltoppers opened their 2020 season with a win in last night's volleyball game against the New Washington Mustangs in 4 sets.
"It was nice to get a win right out of the box. With everyone being new to each other, as in players and coaches, along with the COVID rules they looked pretty good. We will work on what went wrong this evening and they will continue to get better as the season goes on, but overall we were fairly pleased with their performance tonight and know that they will put in the work to get where they need to be," said coach Dennis Kilgore.

"It's certainly good to be home! Kira medaled for the third straight match tonight against a couple of sectional foes. She hit the ball very well off the tee, stayed out of trouble and putt as well as I've seen her. I asked her what her career-best was and she didn't know so we're going to assume this is it. Bailey and Gia were solid and Yolett is showing steady improvement as the team continues to play better each time they hit the course. I'm really pleased with their play," said Shawe coach David Hertz.
