Hanover Senior granted All-American Accolades

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognized senior Kenna Hunter (Mooresville, Ind.) as an NCAA Division III All-American in the pentathlon for the 2020 Indoor season announced Tuesday afternoon.

The USTFCCCA saw 675 athletes claim the accolade with 161 different institutions being recognized.

Hunter garners her first All-American honor in the event after qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championship which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The senior entered the meet ranked among the top 20 in the nation following her school-record 3,292-point performance which landed her 18th overall among Division III competitors.

Hunter competed in the event on three separate occasions during the 2020 campaign, earning podium recognition in each of those contests. As part of her final meet of the season, Hunter claimed two first place marks in the pentathlon winning the high jump with a leap of 1.61 meters and the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.38.

The senior concluded her decorative career holding the indoor school record in the high jump (1.62 meters) and pentathlon. She was also named a USTFCCCA All-region honoree on two separate occasions, three-time HCAC Track Athlete of the Week, USTFCCCA All-Academic, and an 11-time indoor All-HCAC honoree.
