Lacrosse: Hanover men’s lacrosse over Alma (Michigan) 11-5 

Alex Kleinhelter and Colin O’Brien each scored 2 goals to lead Hanover. Dean Henderson had a goal and 2 assists, Gabe Hetrick had a goal and an assist and Owen Parker scored a goal.

Matthew Hillard spent all 60 minutes in goal and stopped 10 saves for the Hanover

Hanover, now 7-2 on the season, hosts Transylvania on Wednesday, April 2.

Hanover women’s lacrosse fell to Alma (Michigan) 19-6 

Anissa Weber had three goals for the Panthers and Abby Mensing had two goals. Emma Williams had 17 saves in goal.

Hanover, now 0-5 on the season, hosts Spalding on Saturday, April 5.

BASEBALL: 

Hanover fell in a doubleheader to Franklin on Saturday 12-6 and 10-8.

Trevor Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in the first game, Owen Boyce had two hits and scored a run, Jake Danneman had a double and a run and David Newbanks had a double. Ashton Dickmann allowed five earned runs in an inning and suffered the loss.

Danneman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs in game two, Wesley Stiller had two hits and an RBI, Nickey Gutzwiller had two hits, Reid Douglas had two hits and an RBI, and Trevor Jones had a double and two runs. Chris Hautman pitched the first five and a third innings and took the loss.

Former Southwestern standout Jordan DeAntley played right field in game two and reached based twice on walks while also striking out three times. He stole second base in the fourth inning as part of a double steal that plated a run to tie the game 3-3 and Franklin never trailed again.

Hanover, now 4-11 on the season, had its home doubleheader with Earlham on Sunday postponed to Monday. The Panthers host Otterbein on Wednesday and travels to Mount St. Joseph for a three-game series starting on Friday.

Hanover Defeated Earlham 17-4

SOFTBALL: 

Hanover fell in a doublerheader to Wilmington 13-5 and 6-5 in eight innings.

Addison Smith had three hits and scored a run in the first game, Olivia Planck had two hits and two RBIs and Sydney Foy had a double and an RBI. Lauren Beaman suffered the loss in the circle.

Wilmington scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to get the win in game two. LauRie Harmless had two hits and two RBIs for the Panthers, Foy had two hits and a run, Planck had a triple and two runs and Lulu Van Been had a double and a run. Van Beek went the distance and took the loss.

Hanover, now 3-9 on the season, hosts Spalding for two games on Thursday and hosts Bluffton on Saturday.

MENS GOLF : 

Hanover men’s golf shot a 658 to place ninth in the 12-team Great Lakes Intercollegiate at Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute 

Rose-Hulman shot a 586 to win the event, five strokes ahead of Dubuque (Iowa).

Jacob Knapp tied for 33rd with a 160 (83-77) to lead Hanover. Bing Wilson (81-85) and Brock Bredehoft (91-75) tied for 39th with a 166, Xander O’Neal was 44th with a 169 (84-85) and Griffin Mann tied for 47th with a 174 (88-86).

Hanover’s next match is the Illinois College Blueboy Invitational April 10-11.

MEN'S TENNIS: 

Hanover men’s tennis lost at Transylvania, 7-0 

The Panthers, now 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, hosts Franklin on Thursday.
