Girls Tournament is celebrating 50 years this year
The 50th year of the IHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament is a celebration of athletes who have competed fiercely, fans who have supported passionately, and communities that have embraced the spirit of basketball in every corner of the Hoosier State and everywhere in between. This milestone is a tribute to the many players, coaches, families, and supporters who have made the tournament what it is today—a vibrant and integral part of Indiana's sports culture.
With that, the Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. proudly announces the pairings for a golden milestone - the 50th IHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament presented by the Indiana Fever and Indiana Pacers.
Sectional games are scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 4, and run through Saturday, Feb. 8 when 64 sectional championship teams will be crowned.
The regional is a single-game championship set for Saturday, Feb. 15, and the semi-state a two game affair with the winner advancing to the state championship game.
Two regional championship games will be played back-to-back at the same site with the winners finding out their next opponent and host site the following day. The semi-state games – scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 - will be randomly drawn live and announced in a special pairings show via IHSAAtv.org.
