Hanover Women's Track and Field Receive USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Senior Kenna Hunter Recognized Individually As Well

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its All-Academic award winners with the women's track and field team receiving All-Academic Team honors for the 2019-2020 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field season. Senior Kenna Hunter (Mooresville, Ind.), who recently advanced to the NCAA Division III Indoor National meet, was also recognized by the USTFCCCA.

The Panthers excelled in the classroom ending the academic calendar with a team GPA of 3.25. A total of 209 women's track and field programs were honored by the USTFCCCA. To earn the honor, a program must achieve at least a 3.1 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Hanover is led by second-year head coach Rachel Sharpe, who in her first season guided the women's program to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championship title. For their efforts, the Panther coaching staff was named the HCAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Hunter, who earlier this summer was named a USTFCCCA All-American, garnered her second consecutive All-Academic honor. The senior concluded the indoor season ranked among the top 20 in the nation in the pentathlon following her school-record 3,292-point performance which landed her 18th overall among Division III competitors.

She concluded her decorative career holding the indoor school record in the high jump and pentathlon.

To qualify for the award, an athlete must hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and must either compete in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor National Championship event or finish the season ranked among the top 50 in an individual event.
