INDIANAPOLIS – The stage has been set for the IHSAA Boys and Girls Soccer State Tournaments with a record number of girls and boys teams competing.
Sectional pairings for the 30th Annual Soccer State Tournaments were drawn on Sunday evening.
A record 305 boys teams and 274 girls teams will compete across three classifications.
Both tournaments will mirror each other beginning with 16 sectionals in each of the three classes running October 2-7.
Regional semifinals will be played on October 11-12 followed by regional championship games on October 14. Semi-states are Saturday, October 21 at four sites with winners advancing to the state championship matches on October 27-28 at Michael Carroll Stadium at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

BOYS SOCCER
Sectional 28 at Rushville (7 teams)
NOTES: South Dearborn (6-7-1) are the defending champions. The Knights boast a 5-1 record against sectional opponents with wins over Greensburg (6-3), Batesville (2-1), Rushville (6-0), Franklin County (3-0), and Lawrenceburg (1-0). South Dearborn fell 3-2 to Madison on September 7. Brodie Teke is South Dearborn's top goal scorer with 11. Austyn Tibbs has been outstanding with 7 goals and 7 assists. Batesville's Ian Carpenter is another to keep an eye on. He has tallied 18 goals and three assists this season.

Sectional 45 at Jac-Cen-Del (7 teams)
NOTES: Switzerland County (9-5) are the defending champions. Last year's sectional title win was the first in program history for the Pacers. The road to repeating as sectional champs could potentially go through a couple teams Switzerland County has already lost to. They are 4-3 against sectional opponents with two losses to Shawe Memorial (1-0, 4-2) and one loss to Jac-Cen-Del (3-2). Lookout for Cooper Todd, he has scored 23 goals and added four assists for the Pacers.

GIRLS SOCCER
Sectional 28 at Batesville (6 teams)
NOTES: Lawrenceburg (14-1) are the defending champions. As of Sunday's pairing show, the Lady Tigers have won 13 straight games and are ranked #10 in Class 2A. Their only loss of the season was to East Central (5-2) on August 17. Lawrenceburg currently has four double-digit goal scorers in Preslee Rugg, Isabella Gilmour, Kamryn Ferreira, and Morgan Manford. Batesville (10-2-1) is ranked #17 in Class 2A. The Lady Bulldogs are 5-1 against sectional opponents with their only loss coming to Lawrenceburg (7-1) on September 5.

Sectional 45 at Switzerland County (6 teams)
NOTES: Oldenburg Academy (9-4-1) are the defending champions. The Lady Twisters are currently ranked #20 in Class 1A. They are 4-0 against sectional opponents with wins over Switzerland County, Rising Sun, Milan and South Ripley. Freshman Claire Neise has been their top performer this season with 26 goals and 7 assists. Switzerland County poses a threat in this sectional with a record of 14-1. Their lone loss came to Oldenburg Academy (2-0) on September 14. The Lady Pacers have scored 124 goals and have allowed only six. Switzerland County has a ton of firepower with Halle Archer (33 goals, 15 assists), Emma Parsons (23 goals, 13 assists), Emma South (15 goals), and Kenzie Taylor (14 goals)
