Today was a key sectional matchup and I was curious to see how we matched up against Jennings because I knew they were returning everybody. We have some new players down at four and five in the lineup, and I wanted to see if we could hold our own. I saw some good things out there team-wise, but we could afford to get better two through five.
Keara had quite an interesting round. She hit two fairways the entire match and was still able to go two-under. You don't see that too often.
We finished at 401. Keara finished 3rd with a 76. We finished 5 out 9 as a team.
Keara Eder - 76
Grace Bronkella - 93
Gracie Gasaway - 106
Reagan Warren - 131
Lilly Fox - 126
I like the way we responded today after a last night's loss to Jennings. I think the girls felt a little sting losing at home. We were matched up with them again today, so that was a little motivation. I saw quite a few good things to build on today. Keara's 76 was a little disappointing for her standards. I'll take a 76 all day long, but it's that attention to detail and those high standards that have gotten her where she it. She finished with a couple of bogeys and had a mental mistake in the back half of her round, but she was still able to get third place which is great.
Bronkella had a great bounce-back round after last night. She has a lot of potential to tap into. If she keeps working hard, she can continue to score pretty well.
Gracie, Reagan, and Lilly are not even close to hitting their stride and I think they will continue to get better as the season progresses.
*We picked up another tournament (the Greensburg Invitational) this Saturday. Monday has been moved to 8/24.
