HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL:
Southwestern upends 2A #4 South Decatur 81-69. Foster Mefford 40 points to lead the Rebels. It was only the 2nd loss of the year for the Cougars. Southwestern coach Jerry Bomholt had this to say on the 95.3 WIKI Chandler Chevrolet Post Game Show:
Shawe picks up a win over South Central 51-43. Henry Grote - 23 Ethan Stuart- 18 Chandler Cole- 15 Grayson May - 14 led the way for the Toppers who have won their last three games.
Switzerland Co. falls on a buzzer beater to Franklin Co. 58-56. Damian Breeck scored his 1,000 point of his career had 22, Weaver 21 for the Pacers who have now lost their last 5 in a row and 9 of their last 10
Trimble Co. over Owen Co. 60-57. Reece Webster 22 Ryan Long 12 lead the Raiders.
HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Grant Co. over Carroll Co. 59-49
Trimble Co. falls to Owen Co. 60-42. Shelby Wilcoxson 16 Addison Edmondson 11 lead the way for the Lady Raiders
HANOVER COLLEGE ATHLETICS:
Men's basketball hopes for the regular season HCAC title came to an end as they fall on the road in overtime to Bluffton 76-72. Isaac Hibbard 23, Ty Houston and Kevin Williams 12 for the Panthers.
Women's basketball defeats Bluffton 69-46. Alexis Nall 20, former Madison Lady Cub Katie Hartman and Savannah Courtney each with 14 for the Panthers who are now 16-6 overall and 15-1 in the ORVC.
Men's lacrosse opens their season with a 10-9 overtime win at Westminster College (PA). Noah King scores the winning goal with just over two minutes left in OT.
Women's lacrosse falls in their opener to Division I Butler 22-0.
Women's swimming finishes 4th and the men 5th in the HCAC Championships
