IHSAA BOYS WRESTLING JENNINGS CO. SECTIONAL:
Top four finishers in each weight class advance to the regional next Saturday at Jeffersonville.
Madison's Noah Burkhardt (120 pounds) Tucker Adams (220) and Jacob McRoberts (126) claim sectional titles. Cubs' Bryce Turner (112) Mason Long places 2nd at 152 pounds. 2nd, Kelsey Bilz (106) 3rd. Dalton Berry places 3rd at 182. Van Skinner places 3rd at 170 pounds.
Southwestern's Brady McLain wins the sectional championship at 195 pounds. Cameron Canada places 4th at 120 pounds. Clifton Hendrickson is 4th at 132. Matthew Douglas places 4th at 182. Brandon Smith places 4th at 145 pounds.
Switzerland County's Jacob Wolf places 2nd at 132. Austin Wolf places 3rd at 126 pounds. Alec Boggs places 4th 195.
Madison finished 2nd behind sectional winner Columbus East. Southwestern was 7th and Switzerland Co. 9th.
HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL:
Madison falls for the 4th game in a row as North Harrison holds on for a 61-56 victory. Luke Miller 19, Luke Ommen 16, Kaden Oliver 13 for the Cubs
Southwestern pulls off a 58-54 victory over Mitchell. Foster Mefford 25 points, Zach Cole 12 for the Rebels. The win was Coach Bomholt's 547th of his career. Southwestern home Thursday night hosting South Ripley in a ORVC contest, catch the action here on 95.3 WIKI at 7:15.
Milan defeats Switzerland Co. 66-51 and moves to 3-0 in the ORVC.
HOOSIER HILLS CONFERENCE BOYS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Madison finished 3rd overall behind HHC champion Floyd Central and runner-up Bedford North Lawrence. Justin Banks 2nd in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM
HANOVER COLLEGE ATHLETICS:
Women's basketball pick up their 11th HCAC win as they defeat Manchester University 80-64. Kristin Mills led three other Panthers in double figures with 20 points, former Madison Lady Cub Katie Hartman 15, Alexis Nall and Savanna Courtney had 14.
Men's basketball takes a big loss on the road as they fall to Manchester University 61-51. Ty Houston lead the Panthers with 14 points. Hanover stays one game behind Franklin in the HCAC after they fall to Bluffton. Panthers and Grizzles meet at Franklin on Wednesday.
