COACH MATT JOHNSON HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT THE REBELS: The girls did an amazing job responding to uncertain conditions today. After the heavy rain this morning, we were not sure we would get to play tonight. Holes 6 & 7 were underwater but we replaced them with 17 & 18 allowing everyone to compete on a full 9-holes tonight. Weather conditions continually swung between hot and humid and threatening to storm but the girls hung in there mentally and finished their rounds strong. All the girls made great improvements in their putting game tonight. They finished a majority of holes in 2 putts with a couple of single putts in there as well.
VOLLEYBALL:
Southwestern defeated South Dearborn MONDAY NIGHT IN VOLLEYBALL ACTION: 3-1: 25-13, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17.
Kylie Eccles was 32 for 34 hitting with 12 kills and had 4 aces.
Ashleigh Ream was 26 for 28 passing with 12 digs and had 2 aces on 16 for 19 serving.
Meaghan Kramer was 88 for 88 setting with 19 assists, hit 11 for 12 with 4 kills, and added 12 digs.
Emma Long and Marissa Naylor added 6 kills each.
COACH CHRIS JOHNSON HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT THE WIN MONDAY NIGHT : We played pretty well tonight. I thought we were consistent all the way through the match. We definitely need some improvement offensively but communication was good and defense was outstanding. Ashleigh Ream, Marissa Naylor, Parker Mefford, and Meaghan Kramer worked well defensively for us. We will work on our serving game and offense tomorrow at practice to try to round out our game but we are looking good for this early in the season.
Southwestern is currently 3-1 and travels to Clarksville on Wednesday for a 6pm start.
