Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association Futures Showcase. Indiana Amateur Golf Championship

Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association North/South Senior All-Star Classic opened activities yesterday afternoon at Madison’s O’Neal Field with the Futures Showcase. Two Madison Cubs took part in the showcase, Zach Forner and Mason Welsh. Forner and Welsh each played for Team Grey in the second game of the double-header, which fell to Team Blue 9-7. Forner, was 2-3 in with a run scored and a double. Welsh was 1-2 with a single and pitched a scoreless inning allowing only one hit. The senior North and South all-stars kick off their events with a home run derby at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. A doubleheader will be played on Saturday afternoon and will conclude with a single game on Sunday afternoon. All games at Madison's Gary O'Neal Field.

 

Former Madison Cub and current Hanover College Golf Coach, Brandon Tereshko, sits tied for 14th after two rounds of the Indiana Amateur Golf Championship in Noblesville. Tereshko is 1 under four back of the leader. Southwestern grad, Hunter Mefford failed to make the cut at 24 over. Play continues today.

 

The UofL baseball team is still alive in the College World Series.  The Cardinals beat Auburn, 5-3, yesterday in an elimination game in Omaha, Nebraska.  The game started on Tuesday but was postponed in the top of the fifth inning due to weather.  The Cards will face Mississippi State this evening in an elimination game.
