Trimble Co. baseball falls 12-7 to Williamstown in All A opener. Masen O'Neal 2-4, 2B, RBI Bray Taylor 1B, 2RBI, R Charlie Liter 1B, 2R Brayden Wilson (L) 3.2 IP, 0ER, 2H, 2K Raiders now 2-8.

Shawe Memorial traveled to Jac Cen Del Monday night for an ORVC tilt. Unfortunately, they were on the wrong side of a 7-6 score. It was a tale of 2 games.  For the first 5 innings the Hilltoppers looked every part of a 3-1 team looking for its 2nd conference win.  The whole thing went south in the bottom of the 6th when 5 errors led to 6 runs.  Jacob Hertz started on the mound and pitched well going 4&1/3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits.  Wyatt Nichter came on in the bottom of the 5th and worked out of a jam.  He eventually was tagged with the loss giving up 6 runs,2 earned.

At the plate, the Hilltoppers were led by Philip Kahn who had 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Hertz had an RBI double. Nichter added a single and 2 RBIs. Trae Liston and Eric Liu each added a single.

Shawe returns to action Wednesday when they host Southwestern

Shawe varsity girls tennis traveled to Milan on Monday. Shawe came away with a hard fought 3-2 victory. Here are results:

“Other than Lauren, we all started out slow. The great part of it, however, is that we battled back! Kelly McClure had an amazing comeback after a rough first set to get us the victory. We had two 3 set matches and one very tough two set match. We are still trying to figure out doubles and we will see how our next match goes. All in all, I am pleased with the effort!”

Shawe is now 2-1 on the season as a team and will host Southwestern Tuesday.
