Shawe Memorial returned home Wednesday night for a non-conference matchup with South Decatur. The Hilltoppers used good pitching and timely hitting to win 7-3.  Shawe jumped to an early lead pushing across 5 runs in the 1st with RBI hits from Jacob Hertz, Wyatt Nichter and Tyler Hill and that’s all the runs Nichter needed as he went the distance allowing 3 runs 1 earned while scattering 3 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 4. At the plate, Eric Liu and Wyatt Nichter each had 2 hits and an RBI.  Tyler had a single and 2 RBIs ,  Hertz an RBI double.  Jacob Hart and Casey Hill each had a single.

GOLF:

Southwestern Boys Golf hosted Jac-Cen-Del, New Washington, and Shawe at home at Butler Falls Golf Course tonight. Shawe and New Washington did not have team scores as New Washington only had 3 golfers and Shawe only had 1.

Eli Turner (Shawe) was the medalist on the night with a 41.

Adam Boley (Southwestern) tied for 2nd overall with a 42.

We also held a B squad match tonight as both Southwestern and Jac-Cen-Del fielded enough players.

TENNIS:

Lady Rebels traveled to Borden on Wednesday and lost a hard fought match 1-4. We were with out no.1 singles player Syrenia Hardy. Natalie LaRue lost a tight match at no.1 4-6, 3-6. Winner tonight was Emma Hatton 6-2, 6-3. Ava Barnes lost a tough three set match as did Raygan Crawford and Autumn Gross at no.1 doubles. Kaylee Hite and Joselyn Johnson lost at no.2 dubs 3-6 3-6. Really proud of the effort as we had to completely shift our lineup without Syrenia and everyone really played well but we just could not finish tonight.   Now 5-1 on the season we hist the Southern Indiana Tennis Conference Tourney on Saturday at Shawe and Madison starting at 9:00.
