2003 Shawe Boys Basketball Sectional Champions Recognized

Team members and coaches will be honored at Varsity Boys Game

Union Dugger is low on players and only has enough to play one half for JV.  We will now have 2 quarters of JV with the tip at 2:30pm.  Dance team and Senior night will be between games.  The 2003 Team will still be honored at halftime of the varsity game.

 

Madison, IN, February 14 — Shawe Memorial High School will be honoring the 2003 Boys Basketball Sectional Championship team this Saturday February 18th.  All team members and coaches have been invited to attend.  This team was 11-13 overall and gave the Hilltoppers their second sectional championship in a row.  This was the first sectional championship in the first season for coach Jerry Bomholt.  The Hilltoppers defeated Crothersville 59-22 in the semi-final round and then went on to defeat the host Henryville Hornets 33-32 in the championship!  Team members are Drew Kring, Caleb Tandy, Matt Goley, Kevin Schafer, John Bennett, Brandon Lauster, Doug Ungru, Michael Waller, Ben Schafer, Evan Hensley, Philip Berry, and Greg Guarino.  Coaches were Jerry Bomholt, Brett Palmer, Scott Bomholt, and Mike Gosman.

            The 20 year anniversary celebration will take place during halftime of the Varsity boys basketball game VS Union Dugger.  Junior Varsity tip-off will be at 2pm.  We will be honoring our current 2023 Senior basketball players and cheerleaders between games.  We will then be honoring the 2003 sectional champs at halftime of the Varsity game.  Most of the team will be in attendance and Coach Jerry Bomholt has confirmed. 

After the game, we will have a reception at the KofC for the 2003 team, their families, and any Shawe supporters who would like to come hang out and reminisce about the good ole days!
