(Napoleon, Ind.) – A pavement and bridge replacement project continues on U.S. 421 between Napoleon and Osgood.
On Thursday, the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department announced via Twitter that the closure point near Michigan Road has been moved north of the bridge near the Lutheran Cemetery.
The new closure point means motorists can no longer access Michigan Road from Napoleon.
Pavement and bridge replacement started in early April along U.S. 421.
Work will continue through the spring and summer moving south from Napoleon to Osgood.
Paving is expected to be complete in the following three sections by early July:
- U.S. 421 between C.R. 850 N and C.R. 750 N
- U.S. 421 between C.R 750 N and C.R. 600 N
- U.S. 421 between C.R. 600 N and C.R. 450 N
Other work includes bridge replacement over Vernon Fork Muscatatuck River in Decatur County. The bridge is expected to remain closed through early July.
Construction on U.S. 421 over Laughery Creek in Napoleon is scheduled to begin in July and will remain closed through late October.
All closures will be detoured by using State Road 229 to State Road 48 to State Road 129 to State Road 350.
