U.S. 31/S.R. 56 intersection improvement project to begin Monday in Scottsburg

Project is expected to be completed by the end of October

MAC Construction will begin preliminary work on a $1.9 million intersection improvement project at U.S. 31 and S.R. 56 in Scottsburg on or after Monday, April 29, weather permitting.

Work will take place primarily from Park Drive to Keith Street and will include installation of a new traffic signal, intersection widening and lane improvements. Additional concrete patching and paving on S.R. 56 will take place toward the end of the project, west of the U.S. 31/S.R. 56 intersection.

Minimal traffic impacts are expected until planned lane shifts occur on or after Monday, May 13. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.

This project will replace current signals and improve roadway conditions in the area.
