(Phoenix, Ariz.) - Last Thursday, U-Haul announced an act of kindness to college students affected by schedule changes in the U.S. and Canada.
With COVID-19 concerns spreading the storage rental company is hoping to ease the stress of having to make these unforeseen accommodations.
U-Haul President John “JT” Taylor gave word that U-Haul will extend 30 days of free self-storage at U-Haul-Owned and -operated facilities to help impacted college students.
“We don’t know how every student is affected. But we know they are affected,” said Taylor. “More and more universities are giving instructions to leave campus and go home. Students and their parents are in need of moving and storage solutions. We have the expertise and network to help, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

This free month will apply to new customers with college IDs and is a limited time offer subject to availability. As a company, this is the first time that U-Haul has extended an offer like this.
With schools evacuating campuses and moving to online instruction due to the precautions it is taking with the coronavirus, U-Haul is anticipating an early spring moving rush.
You can reserve a truck or trailer at uhaul.com or call 1-800-GO-UHAUL. U-Haul also accepts third-party pay, which enables family members to fund their loved one’s moving and storage needs.
