(North Vernon, Ind.) – Yesterday, an officer with the North Vernon Police Department was dispatched to a local business where two subjects appeared to be sleeping in a vehicle.
Upon arrival, Officer Wes Thayer made contact with the individuals and found that the two were displaying symptoms of recent drug use.
Further investigation yielded .55 grams (1/2 grams) of Heroin and related paraphernalia.
25-year-old Tyler Shrum and 28-year-old Richard Shrum were arrested and taken to the Jennings County Jail.
The two were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, and public intoxication.
