Subjects attempted to pass a possible fraudulent check
Friday, the Madison Police Department received a call reference to two subjects attempted to pass a possible fraudulent check at B&I Credit Union. Ptl. Aaron Watson arrived at the bank and was directed to the vehicle that the suspects were in. Ptl. Watson was able to locate the vehicle as it was leaving and stopped the vehicle.
Ptl. Craig Hahn and Ptl. Kyle Cutshaw arrived to assist. During the stop, officers came into contact with the driver identified as Yatisha Scholl Age 38. Yatisha was found to be in possession of a check. Officers learned that the owner of the checks reported them stolen. During a search of the vehicle, officers located additional checks belonging to the victim.
Also with Yatisha was a male subject identified as Jeremy Pursley. Pursley was on Parole through the Indiana Department of Corrections. During the investigation, officers were found Jeremy to be in possession of a controlled substance. Yatisha and Jeremy were placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
During booking procedures, Yatisha was found to be in possession of a syringe, methamphetamine, and a legend drug.
