(Madison, Ind.) - On January 6, Madison Police investigated the possession of a destructive device, located in a residence, in the 1000 block of East Street.
The investigation led by Detective Kyle Cutshaw, Patrolman Cameron Blankenship, and the Indiana State Police explosive technician Trooper Rick Stockdale, led to the arrest of Sadie E. Wells, 26, of Madison.
Wells was arrested for one count of possession of a destructive device (level 5 felony), and possession of a syringe (level 6 felony). Wells was present at the home when officers arrived and had previously lived at the residence in question. Officers initially responded to the residents on East Street for a reported disturbance call,
The initial call led to the discovery of the destructive device.
On October 25, 2020, Jefferson County Sheriff David W. Thomas and Chief Deputy Josh Taylor investigated the discovery of a homemade destructive device at the intersection of State Highways 421 and 250.
In November 2020, Madison Police Detective Kyle Cutshaw received information that implicated Cameron M. Kinser, 32, of Crestwood, Kentucky as the manufacturer of the explosive device found on October 25. Evidence obtained from the East Street call, and from the October 2020 investigation, Kinser was arrested for manufacturing a destructive device.
Kinser was taken into custody at an apartment in Presidential Estates.
Cameron Kinser currently faces one count of manufacturing a destructive device, however, an additional count is anticipated as Thomas and Taylor move forward with their October 25, 2020, investigation.
Detective Cutshaw and Patrolman Blankenship were assisted with the investigation by Madison Police Officers Wallace, Barnes & Smith. Cameron M. Kinser and Sadie E. Wells have the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. The investigation is ongoing.
