Trash Collection Increase in Hanover

Contract would run thru 2025

The Town of Hanover is recommending an increase in trash collection after the town had to pay Rumpke at the end of the year after they increased their collection cost.

Currently residents pay $14.20 per household for trash but the cost from Rumpke amounts to $16.28 per residence for the town’s 917 households.

The current town contract with Rumpke runs through Oct. 31 with options to extend the contract annually through 2025 that would increase the cost to $17.31 per household in the third year.

The council made the approval to increase the trash collection price to 17.50per household which should cover cost if Rumpke raises their prices for anything

The board will approve this at a future meeting

Their was also discussion about the town possibly having their own trash truck but that will not be in the foreseeable future
