Temporary signal to control traffic at S.R. 11 bridge in Jackson County

They are replacing the superstructure with project completion set for 2023

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. will reduce S.R. 11 traffic to one lane with a temporary traffic signal on or after Monday, June 13, to complete a superstructure replacement project over East Fork White River Overflow in Jackson County. The bridge is located roughly two miles north of S.R. 258, just north of Rockford, and will remain under construction for up to 120 days.

In addition to S.R. 11 bridge construction, contract crews plan to close S.R. 258 over East Fork White River Overflow in Jackson County, to complete another superstructure replacement project. The bridge is located just east of the river and will remain fully closed for up to 120 days. An official start date will be announced.

The $3.9 million contract was awarded to E&B in March 2022 and has an overall completion date of October 31, 2022. Roadside work will continue into 2023, but with minimal impacts to traffic. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, take caution, and be vigilant of workers and equipment through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change
