Switzerland Co. Woman Arrested On Domestic Abuse Charges

All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

 

(Switzerland County, Ind.) - On August 14 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Switzerland County Deputies responded to the report of a person shot at a residence in the 3800 block of Catalpa Street near Patriot.

Officers arrived to find Jeremiah M. Powell, 39, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left leg. Powell was treated at the scene by Switzerland Co. Emergency

Response personnel before being transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital with serious injuries.

After investigation, Powell’s girlfriend Stacey D. Henderson, 30, was arrested for her involvement in the incident.

Hendersons charges are as follows: Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony), Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony), Domestic Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felony), Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child (Level 6 Felony) and Pointing a Firearm (Level 6 Felony).

Henderson made her initial appearance in Switzerland Co. Circuit Court on August 17 and was given a $10,000 cash bond.

Henderson remains incarcerated at this time.
