Subject arrested on a total of eleven counts of Torturing or Mutilating a Vertebrate Animal in Jennings County.

The investigation started in February of 2019

On December 30, 2019, at approximately 4:30 PM, deputies executed an arrest warrant on Cody Kreutzjans (age 30 of North Vernon) at his residence for his involvement in the killing of several dogs.

The investigation by Detective Sgt. Jeff Jones and Jennings Animal Control started in February of 2019 when several deceased dogs were located in the northeastern part of Jennings County. As the investigation continued, items of evidence were submitted to the Indiana State Police Lab. Once confirmation was received back from the State Police Lab, the case was forwarded to Jennings County Prosecutor, Brian Belding, for review where he subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Kreutzjans.

Kreutzjans is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on $10,000 bond for ten felony counts and one misdemeanor count of Torturing or Mutilating a Vertebrate Animal.

Sheriff Kenny Freeman states that he is glad to bring closure to this investigation and would to thank the public for their help and assistance in this case.
