State Unemployment Rates Release For Month Of February

Indiana's unemployment rate is still under the national rate of 6.2 percent. 

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The Department of Workforce Development announced that Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 4.0 percent for the month of February.

The monthly unemployment rate in a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicator reflects the number of unemployed people seeking employment within the prior four weeks as a percentage of the labor force.

The unemployment rate in Indiana for the month of February has dropped from what was seen in January at 4.2 percent.

Indiana's total labor force, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.34 million, and the state’s 63.2 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.4 percent.

February employment data for Indiana counties, cities, and MSAs will be available on Monday, March 29 at noon.
