(Versailles, Ind.) - South Ripley Elementary School is proud to announce that it has posted the highest IREAD-3 passing rate of all public school districts in Southeast Indiana. With an impressive 98.4 percent passing rate, South Ripley Elementary not only led Ripley County but also ranked at the top in a comparison of 15 southeastern Indiana public school districts. This remarkable achievement also places South Ripley Elementary fourth among all public school districts across the entire state of Indiana, where the average passing rate was 82.5 percent.

IREAD-3 is Indiana’s reading assessment that measures students’ basic reading skills and comprehension. The purpose of IREAD-3 is to ensure that students can read proficiently by the end of third grade.

South Ripley Elementary Principal Ryan Lauber attributed this success to the dedicated efforts of his staff. "Our teachers and support staff have worked tirelessly to implement the Science of Reading initiative, which has been instrumental in our students' success. Their commitment to professional development through the Indiana Literacy Cadre has truly paid off. This achievement is a testament to their dedication and hard work."

Superintendent Rob Moorhead also expressed his gratitude and pride in the school community. "We are incredibly proud of our students, teachers, staff, administrators, and parents for coming together to achieve these fantastic results. Their collective effort has led to an outcome that speaks volumes about the quality of education at South Ripley Elementary. It's another great day to be a Raider."

South Ripley Elementary School’s achievement underscores the district’s commitment to academic excellence and its focus on ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
