SOCIAL MEDIA POST LANDS CARROLL COUNTY MAN BEHIND BARS

Carroll Co Ky- A Carrollton man is behind bars after authories were called to Carroll Memorial Hospital to investigate a report of child abuse.

Benjamin Franklin 23, of Carrollton was arrested on Criminal Abuse of a Child under 12 and strangulation both felonies.

He posted videos of himself physically abusing a 2 year old boy on social media site SnapChat.

The child had obvious visible injuries to his face and neck and scrapes that were fresh.

The child's mother stated to police that she was at work when she was contacted by several people whom stated that they had seen videos posted on social media of the alleged child abuse by Franklin. The child was seen to be held in the air by his throat and then being slammed into a bed.

Franklin admitted to police that he had struck the child several times, he also admitted to recording the incident to social media

He is being held in the Carroll County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond. He is scheduled for his first court appearance on Wednesday and has been ordered to have no contact with the boy his mother or their home.
