Slide correction, paving begins May 28 on S.R. 7/Hanging Rock Hill in Madison

All work is expected to be complete by November 1, 2019

Rohe Asphalt will begin a $2.1 million slide correction and asphalt resurfacing project on a 3.5-mile section of S.R. 7 in Madison on or after Tuesday, May 28, weather permitting.

The project will close S.R. 7/Hanging Rock Hill from Paddy's Lane at the south end of the hill to Terrace Drive on the north end for approximately 90 days for slide correction work.

A soil nail wall will be used to stabilize sliding roadway by installing steel bars into the hillside that are reinforced with concrete.

Following completion of the slide correction, asphalt resurfacing and preventative maintenance will take place on S.R. 7 from S.R. 56/Main Street, downtown, to Industrial Drive on Madison's hilltop. Lane closures will be in effect, following completion of the slide correction, beginning at the south end, moving north as paving crews progress.

Motorists should expect delays along the route while paving is taking place. All work is expected to be complete by November 1, 2019.

The official state detour for the closure is S.R. 56/Hanover Hill to S.R. 62/Clifty Drive.
