Sheriff's Department Arrest Two Men For Armed Robbery

Thursday evening, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Police Department, and Indiana Parole investigated an armed robbery that reportedly occurred near Amber Waves Blvd in Jefferson County, Indiana.  Two suspects involved in the armed robbery have been taken into custody and identified as John T. Clark 28, Hanover, Indiana, and Ryan Scott Eckiss 29, Lafayette, Indiana.  At approximately 11:45 PM Clark and Eckiss reportedly approached two individuals, brandished a gun, physically attacked them, and stole personal property. 

 

With information obtained from the investigation, officers were able to develop Clark as a suspect in the robbery.  Clark’s vehicle was later located in the parking lot of Windridge Apartments, as officers began a search of the area for the suspects.   

 

Clark was later spotted by Detective Yancy Denning in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree and FFO Home Furniture parking lot.  Detective Denning, Deputy Ben Flint and Madison Police Officer Shawn Scudder, along with K9-Meko, were able to detain Clark without further incident. 

 

At approximately 9:00 AM 10/12/18 Madison Police Officer Dylan Barnes located Eckiss in the area of the Miles Ridge Subdivision.  Eckiss to was taken into custody without further incident.

 

Property taken in the armed robbery has been recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.  A third suspect reportedly involved in the robbery, still at large  is described as a  light skin black male approximately 5’8” with a large “star” tattoo covering the front of his torso.  Anyone with information regarding this investigation should contact Jefferson County Central Dispatch @ (812) 265-2648. 

 

 John T. Clark and Ryan Scott Eckiss face preliminary alleged charges of Robbery - Level 2 Felony, Aiding Robbery Level 2 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement Class A. Misdemeanor.  Both suspects are currently incarcerated at the Jefferson County Jail.  A 72 hour continuance was granted in this case as the investigation continues.
