Shawe Students Take 2nd & 3rd In The Indiana Academic Superbowl

This year 31 Shawe Memorial students went head-to-head with students from 13 schools around the area.

(Madison, Ind.) – Earlier this month, Shawe Memorial competed virtually in the Senior Division Academic Super Bowl Invitational hosted by Batesville High School.

This year 31 Shawe Memorial students went head-to-head with students from 13 schools around the area competing in disciplines of science, fine arts, social studies, math, English, and interdisciplinary.

The Fine Arts team placed second among all schools. Competing on the Fine Arts team were Lauren Grote (captain), Katie Jacobs, Carson Cooke, Taylor Barron and Emmaline Leatherman. The Fine Arts team is coached by Mrs. Kara Schafer, Pope John Elementary and Shawe Memorial Art Teacher.

The Science team placed third among all schools. Science team members included Trey Suggett (captain), Nolan Tandy, Sophia Ho, Eli Turner and Davis Grote. The Science team is coached by Mr. Bill James, Shawe Science Teacher.

Shawe will compete next in the second virtual invitational on March 30.
