(Madison, Ind.) – As the school year is coming to an end, many schools are trying to find ways to connect with their seniors, whose final year of high school looked a little differently due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Shawe Memorial Principal Curt Gardner found a unique way to meet with each senior individually through either a phone or video call.
Gardner is in the middle of his series which he self-titled, “Airing Your Clean Laundry.” In these segments, he talks with each senior and asks them questions about themselves, what their plans are for the future, and about their time at Shawe Memorial.
The title a play on “airing your dirty laundry,” allows students to share some of the positive things that they are experiencing during this difficult time, as we are fighting the coronavirus.
To go along with the theme of “airing your clean laundry,” Gardner does each interview from his laundry room.
Gardner has always been well known for his communication skills with students, staff, and parents, and this is just another way that he has found to connect with the students.
“This has also been an opportunity for them (students) to share some great feeling and memories of their days as high school students and especially Shawe Memorial,” said Phil Kahn President of Prince of Peace Schools.
