MUTAL AGREEMENT WITH GOLF PRO
MADISON'S PARK BOARD APPROVED A SEPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND LONGTIME SUNRISE GOLF COURSE PGA PROFESSIONAL JEFF BRIDGEFORD, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 26 YEARS THERE WILL BE NEW MANAGEMENT AT THE COURSE.
THIS THE LASTEST DEVELOPMENT IN THE CITY'S STRATEGY TO MAKE THE HILLTOP GOLF COURSE PROFITABLE AFTER YEARS OF LOSING MONEY AND TAKING FINANCIAL BURDEN OFF THE REST OF PARKS SYSTEM, THE TERMS OF THE PRO'S CONTRACT LIMITED THE CITY'S OPTION FOR GENERATING REVENUE.
THE PRO'S CONTRACT ALLOWED HIM OT PROFIT FROM OPERATING PRO SHOP AND GRILL ALONG WITH GREEN AND CART FEES,THE CITY IS LOOKING TO ADD ALCOHOL SALES AT THE GRILL AND COURSE THROUGH A LICENSE THAT WAS GRANTED TO THE CITY A FEW WEEKS BACK.
IN THE LAST 59 YEARS THE COURSE HAS ONLY HAD TWO GOLF PRO'S BRIDGEFORD AND BOB RUSK WHICH 26 YEARS AGO BRIDGEFORD TOOK OVER FOR RUSK AND HAS BEEN AT THE GOLF COURSE EVER SINCE THAT TIME. BRIDGEFORD WILL MANAGE THE COURSE UNTIL JUNE 30TH WHEN HIS CONTRACT EXPIRES WITH THE CITY.
ON JUNE 30TH BRIDGEFORD WILL TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF THE PRO SHOP INVENTORY TO THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF $85,218 AND THE GRILL AND ALL EQUIPMENT FOR $20,000, HE WILL RECEIVE $85,000 IN PROSPECTIVE COMPENSATION OVER NEXT TWO YEARS, AND THEN $16,000 FOE EMPLOYMENT AND RETIREMENT BENEFITS.
