Sex Offender for Multiple Criminal Violations
Scott County- On March 22nd, a team of Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies executed an arrest at a residence on Blocher Adam Street in northeastern Scott County that resulted in the arrest of Jimmy Parks, 27, of Blocher, Indiana. The arrest warrant was issued upon the results of an investigation led by Lieutenant Detective Jacklyn Shofner, Commander of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division. Detective Shofner, who is also a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, began investigating Parks when she was contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services that Parks was allegedly molesting children. The lengthy investigation culminated in Detective Shofner applying for and receiving the arrest warrant for Parks through the Scott County Prosecutors Office. Parks was initially arrested for the following offenses: Child Molesting – Committed by a Person at least 21 Years of Age (3 counts), Child Molesting – Performs or Submits to Fondling or Touching with a Child under 14 Years of Age (3 counts), Child Exploitation or Child Pornography, Dissemination of Material Harmful to Minors, and Strangulation. Parks was transported to the Scott County Jail and incarcerated without incident, where he remains. Multiple agencies were involved in this investigation and the successful outcome. Those agencies are the Indiana Department of Child Services, the Child Advocacy Center Southeast office, the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the Pulaski County Department of Child Services, and the Scott County Prosecutors Office.
