(Scott County, Ind.) - Scott County Sheriff’s Office is currently setting up three military tents at the Sheriff’s Office.

These tents are being set up with the assistance of the Indiana National Guard as a precautionary and training action only. The purpose of these tents is to be prepared for any possible needs that the county might encounter in the future due to the coronavirus.

These tents are also being used for any other disaster that could hit medically, or in the case of severe weather.

The sheriff’s office has been working with the Scott County Health Department and others to help keep the citizens, employees, and inmates safe.

Sheriff Goodin stated, "It is a lot easier to explain why we did something to be prepared than to explain why we did not do anything.”

The tents will be taken down after the current COVID-19 scare is over.
