On Saturday March 25, 2024 at approximately 5:30 PM, Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office responded to the 7300 block of West County Road 600 North in regards to a personal injury automobile accident.

When deputies arrived on scene they located two vehicles that had been involved in a head on collision at a hill crest on 750 North. The driver of one vehicle, Issac Hopkins, age 23, had been ejected from his vehicle.

Deputies, Fire personnel, and Rescue 20 immediately began providing emergency medical care to Issac. Issac succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of that vehicle was wearing their seatbelt and was transported to St. Vincent Jennings Emergency room with non life threatening injuries.

The second vehicle was occupied by three adults and one small juvenile in a car seat. All adults and the juvenile were transported by family members to St. Vincent Jennings Emergency Room to receive medical care for non life threatening injuries.

Indiana State Police was contacted to perform a crash reconstruction.
