(Madison, Ind.) - On Saturday, January 18th the Salvation Army will reopen its emergency winter shelter.

Check-in will begin at 7:00 p.m. and doors will lock at 10:00 p.m. with no further admittance for the night.

Upon arrival, shelter guests will be required to fill out a registration form and sign a guest agreement. These forms are required for the safety of the Salvation Army team and the shelter guests.

Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. All guests must be checked out no later than 7:00 a.m. the following morning.

“The reopening of the warming shelter was made possible through the collaboration of city officials, River Valley Resources, and the Salvation Army team bringing together the necessary volunteers and financial resources. We are grateful to all involved, especially to those in the community who have donated or volunteered their time so this much-needed service can return. We will continue to manage the efforts as necessary,” said Mayor Courtney.

Until Saturday’s reopening, Bicentennial Park Restrooms will continue to be used as a warming shelter from 10:00 p.m.to 7:00 a.m. when temperatures are forecasted to be 32 degrees or lower.
