Resilient Jefferson County To Host Parenting Class

This class will be held at Ivy Tech

MADISON, Ind. – Caring for a child is tough, whether you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, or anyone else who cares for a child. It is even tougher if you yourself experienced trauma as a child. That is why Resilient Jefferson County is sponsoring a one and a half hour parenting course to help caregivers learn about childhood trauma, known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and to understand how their trauma impacts raising their kids.

The free class will be held at Ivy Tech on Friday June 14th at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm and Saturday June 15th at 10:00 am.

In the session, caregivers will:

  • Learn ways to help you care for yourself and your kiddos.
  • Give you a set of fun, interactive books to share with your child.
  • Celebrate the beauty of parenting.

In addition to the children’s books, attendees will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card. Seating is limited to 50 and registration is required.

To learn more and register for this event go to https://www.resilientjeffersoncounty.org/parents. The deadline to register is Monday, June 10th.
