Theme for the parade this year is ‘Go for Gold’ in honor of Madison hosting the Gold Cup race
The City of Madison is pleased to announce that participation forms for the 2019 4th of July and Madison Regatta Parade sponsored by German American Bank are now available. The theme for the parade this year is ‘Go for Gold’ in honor of Madison hosting the Gold Cup race during the Madison Regatta. Forms are available on the City of Madison website www.madison-in.gov or in person at City Hall. This year’s parade will be on Friday, July 5th and begin at 7PM. The parade route will go from Jefferson Street to Cragmont in historic downtown Madison.
The cost for parade entries is $75.00 to be made payable to the City of Madison with ‘Regatta Parade’ written in the memo section (this fee will be waved for nonprofit agencies and schools). Proceeds from the parade fees support the fireworks display on July 6th. The deadline for parade entries and fees is June 28th and should be mailed to Kim Washer at 1958 N. Ryker’s Ridge Rd. Madison, IN 47250 or emailed to kimberly.washer@meritor.com. If you have any questions or concerns about the parade, contact Kim Washer by phone at (812) 599-6635 or by email at Kimberly.washer@meritor.com
The annual American Legion Post #9 Fireworks Spectacular will take place on Saturday, July 6th on Madison’s riverfront at dusk. As usual, entrance to the riverfront for the fireworks will be free, although entry to the Roostertail Music Festival at Bicentennial Park will require a wristband. Roostertail Music festival areas that will require a wristband include Vaughn Drive from West Street to Broadway and West Street south of First Street. Wristbands are $25 for music only, $25 for racing only, or $40 for both for the entire weekend. Donation boxes made by Madison High School's "Cub Manufacturing" will be placed along Madison’s riverfront the night of the fireworks in order to help raise funds to keep the fireworks going in the future.
Parade and fireworks sponsorship opportunities are still available. For information, contact Andrew Forrester at 812-265-8300 or email community@madison-in.gov.
