June 24, 2021, @ approximately 6:54PM Madison Police Patrolman Cameron Blankenship attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 100 block of Clifty Drive.  The Gold Chevrolet passenger car came to a slow role as Patrolman Blankenship noted extensive furtive movement amongst the three occupants.  The vehicle ultimately failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit eventually went south on Cragmont Street, and down Hanging Rock Hill.  While traveling down the hill, Officer Blankenship observed the back seat passenger throw a black bag out the window.  Assisting Officer Zack Nicholson was able to stop and retrieve the discarded item, which later was found to contain methamphetamine.

The pursuit continued down the hanging Rock Hill and West on Main Street.  As the vehicle exited the west end of Madison, Officer Blankenship noted the male front seat passenger slide over into the driver's seat and the female driver over into the passenger seat.

The pursuit ended near Thomas Hill Road as the fleeing vehicle ran off the edge of the roadway and stopped.  The three occupants of the vehicle were successfully taken into custody without further incident.  No injuries were sustained and no property was damaged as a result of the pursuit.  Investigating officers did locate additional narcotics and items associated with the use of drugs in the vehicle, during the subsequent search.
