The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Hubbard (age 34) of North Vernon after Hubbard attempted to flee, on a motorcycle, from police. The pursuit started when Hubbard failed to stop at a stop sign and Chief Deputy David Turner, Sheriff Kenny Freeman and Reserve Deputy Eric Pettit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Hubbard. The deputies were utilizing the new UTV the Sheriff’s Office had just put into service approximately an hour prior.

During the pursuit of the motorcycle, Deputy Drew Heilers entered the pursuit. The pursuit ended up going off road and eventually Hubbard could not cross a creek/ravine with the motorcycle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Hubbard was taken into custody without any further incident.

Hubbard is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail with a $1055.00 dollar bond on the following charges:

1)Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle - Level 6 felony
2)Reckless driving – A misdemeanor
3)Operating while intoxicated – A misdemeanor
