By City of Madison, news release

The community is encouraged to attend.

(Madison, Ind.) - Mayor Bob Courtney announced, the City of Madison Board of Public Works meeting scheduled for December 21, 2020, and the Common Council meeting scheduled for December 22, 2020, will be held in person. The community is encouraged to attend. Beginning in January, all other public meetings will return to in-person meetings.

“It has always been our goal to return to city council chambers once our community health metrics improved. Our metrics have significantly improved over the past month with our Get Back to Blue Campaign. We welcome the community back to City Hall.,” said Mayor Courtney.

In compliance with Governor Eric Holcomb’s orders, the council chambers will be limited to 50 individuals; this includes the board members and cameraman. The city will set up an overflow area in the lobby of City Hall should more than 50 individuals be in attendance, which is the current limit set by the Governor’s executive order.

Madison TV15 will broadcast meetings on MetroNet channel 15 and Spectrum channel 377. The recordings will be shared on Madison TV15’s social media account following the meeting.

In the future, the city does plan to live stream all public meetings on the City of Madison’s social media channels. “We have invested in equipment that will allow for better video production and simultaneous streaming on the PEG station and social media. This will allow for the public to stay informed and have access to public meetings on-demand,” said Mayor Courtney.

All meetings are published on the City of Madison calendar, which can be found at Madison-in.gov. Agendas will be made available before the meetings.
