SWITZERLAND COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation and contractor Ragle, Inc. plan to close State Road 156 between First St. and Willow St. near Patriot on or after Monday, March 20. Crews will begin work on two bridge replacement projects over Wade Creek and Goose Creek in Switzerland County.
Both bridges are scheduled to remain closed through late November. The official detour route will follow S.R. 56 between Vevay and Rising Sun. The rehabilitation contract was awarded to Ragle, Inc. for a total of $6.3 million.
INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when driving through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
