Plane Crash in Southern Scott County

Crash under investigation

                                     

Scott County-On 8-1-2023 at approximately 7:22 pm, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of 2725 S. Lake Road in Southern Scott County, the address of the Scottsburg Municipal Airport, for what was reported as a plane crash. The plane, a homemade ultralight, was located and the pilot was flown by Air Ambulance to a trauma center in Louisville, Kentucky for treatment. The pilot’s condition is not known at this time. The identity of the pilot will not be released until proper notifications have been made. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be in charge of the crash investigation upon their arrival on the scene. This story will be updated once more details are released.
