PEDESTRIAN FATALY INJURED AFTER GETTING STRUCK BY VEHICLE

On August 19, 2021 at approximately 4:12 a.m., a Jennings County man was struck and killed by a vehicle on ST RD 3 South near CR 400 S. Charles Couchman, 78 of North Vernon, was walking north bound on SR 3 when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north. The preliminary investigation showed that Charles had been a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling south when the vehicle ran out of fuel. Charles exited the vehicle and began walking north in the north bound lane when he was struck.

A crash reconstructionist from the Indiana State Police was contacted to reconstruct the crash.
