One Person Indicted and Arrested as Result of Fatal Collision in Gallatin County

Indictment stems from an Accident in 2022

                                        

GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. (09/14/2023) – On November 24, 2022 Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from Gallatin County dispatch in reference to a fatal collision near the 6000 block of US 42. 

KSP Post 5 Troopers as well as Sergeant James Phelps responded to the scene at which time it was determined that a motorcycle traveling west on US 42 attempted to pass another vehicle in a curve. The motorcycle struck a vehicle traveling east head on.

The passenger on the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries in the collision. 

KSP Post 5 Sergeant James Phelps continued the investigation that resulted in the operator of the motorcycle, Corey Sanders 32 years old male of Gallatin County, being indicted on September 8, 2023.  Mr. Sanders was indicted on one(1) count of Reckless Homicide and one(1) count of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.  Mr. Sanders was arrested on the indictment warrant on September 12, 2023 by the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
