This case links back to the January 6 arrest of 32-year-old Cameron Kinser, for manufacturing a destructive device.
(Madison, Ind.) – On Wednesday, January 27, the City of Madison Police department responded to an apartment in the 2861 block of Kennedy Drive in reference to a possible explosive device.
Upon arrival, officers were able to speak with occupants and were able to determine the device had been detonated. The occupant had obvious injuries to the face and was transported to KDH-ER, and later to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Officers evacuated the apartment complex out of an abundance of precaution. Following a sweep of the area the occupants were cleared to return.
Detectives with the department were able to determine that the device had been in the apartment for several months, and the occupant inadvertently detonated the device when they tried to dispose of it.
This case links back to the January 6 arrest of 32-year-old Cameron Kinser, for manufacturing a destructive device (level 5 felony).
As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to allege that Kinser was the manufacturer of the device that was detonated on January 27. The device was left in the apartment, which he frequented.
Kinser, who is still incarcerated in the Jefferson County jail, will now face an additional charge of manufacturing a destructive device (level 2 felony). The level of a felony is more severe, due to the injuries sustained.
