One Arrested, One Injured After Bullet Was Released In Rural Jefferson County

Law was treated and released from KDH with non-life threatening injuries.

(Jefferson County, Ind.) – On April 16, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an individual with a gunshot wound in rural Jefferson County.

Deputies met with the victim 32-year-old Kristina Law, at King’s Daughters’ Health to investigate the incident.

Upon completion of the investigation, it was determined that Law was visiting a residence in the 4700 block of South Hanover Saluda Road in Jefferson County. While inside the residence, she was struck by a projectile bullet that had been fired from a rifle located at a property east of the residence.

Charles J. Hutchason, 48, was then arrested for a Level 5 Felony of Criminal Recklessness.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office are reviewing the case to determine if additional charges will be filed.
